In February 2022, work was successfully completed on laser scanning of the petrochemical production of ZapSibNeftekhim LLC, which is part of the Sibur holding. The work was carried out in order to obtain initial data for the design of reconstruction and modernization at the production of monomers and at the Pyrolysis production. The three-dimensional data obtained as a result of the work was used to build an information 3D model of process equipment, building structures and communications.
ZapSibNeftekhim LLC is the largest petrochemical complex in Russia, located in Tobolsk, Siberia, with a total production capacity of 2.5 million tons of polymers per year. Butadiene, isobutylene production facilities and Pyrolysis production, which is one of the five largest in the world (capacity of 1.5 million tons of ethylene), have undergone modernization. Sibur Holding is the Russian leader in the production of polymers and rubbers. Sibur’s products are used in many sectors of the economy around the world: construction, food industry, medicine and pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and the automotive industry.

Laser scanning provides the opportunity to quickly create an information BIM-model of an industrial facility and subsequently use it to improve operational efficiency and as a basis for designing reconstruction of an industrial facility.
